The Personal Finance Challenge is a national program designed to test students’ knowledge of essential personal finance concepts, including money management, credit, investing, and insurance. In Kentucky, the competition begins with an online qualifying round, followed by an in-person state final held at 91ߣƵ.
Starting this year, the Middle School and High School State Challenges will be held as separate events, allowing each age group to compete among their peers and ensuring a more tailored experience for students.
The Challenge is open to teams of students registered through a classroom teacher, with registration available in both the fall and spring semesters to give schools greater flexibility in participating. In addition to building real-world financial skills, participants develop teamwork, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
The winning high school team will go on to represent Kentucky at the National Personal Finance Challenge, showcasing their knowledge on a national stage.

The Collegiate Financial Consulting Challenge equips students with hands-on experience beyond the classroom, bridging the gap between academic learning and real-world consulting. By fostering professional development and industry connections, the challenge cultivates the next generation of financial leaders while giving employers direct access to driven, career-ready talent.
Working in teams of four, participants take on a challenging case study that mirrors the complex decisions faced by financial consultants. Teams will analyze a fictitious client situation, develop a strategy, and present their recommendations to a panel of industry professionals. Each team will be overseen by a Faculty Advisor from their institution.
The competition will be held November 6th, 2026. If you are interested, please have your advisor fill out the interest form for more information.
